Director of Tennis
John was appointed Director of Tennis at BCCC in late 2016 and comes to us from Franco's Athletic Club, where he was Head Tennis Professional for 7 years. John played his college tennis at Belhaven University, playing #1 singles and #1 doubles from 2002 to 2005. Upon graduation he took a teaching position at Cascades Racquet Club in Clinton, MS. Two years later he moved to Germantown, Tennessee where he was an Assistant Pro at Windyke Country Club. In 2008, he was awarded the USPTA Southern Division Rookie of the Year award with special focus on junior tennis instruction. He moved to Mandeville in 2009 to accept the position of Head Pro at Franco's, where he coached multiple men's and ladies' teams to State and Sectional championships, as well as being instrumental in developing several junior players and programs. John is excited to feature lots of new clinics and events. Head Tennis Professional
Oscar is a PTR certified tennis instructor from Uruguay. Oscar played college tennis on scholarship from The University of Nevada and Mars Hill College. He also earned a master's degree in Sports Science from Fort Hays State University, where he was the Assistant Tennis Coach for the women's team. Prior to coming to BCCC, Oscar coached at the Van der Meer Tennis Academy in South Carolina and Franco's Athletic Club. Oscar is a 5.0 USTA-rated tennis player who enjoys teaching all ages, levels, and abilities.
Debbie has 14 years of teaching experience on the Northshore at Tchefuncta Country Club, Pelican Athletic Club, and presently at Beau Chêne Country Club. Debbie held two consecutive #1 Southern rankings in Women's Doubles with her partner Bobby Miles in '94 and '95. Early in her career, Debbie played tennis for both Dominican High School and Nichols State University. Debbie also held several Top 10 Louisiana State rankings in Singles and Doubles as both a Junior and Adult and achieved her highest USTA ranking of 5.0.
As a resident of St. Tammany Parish since 1978, Pete is a very enthusiastic, motivated tennis instructor who enjoys teaching juniors and beginners. Pete believes that learning the fundamentals and ground stroke production is essential to the development of the student's proficiency in and enjoyment of tennis. He is USTPA (1999) and USTPR (1998) certified and has been coaching tennis for 8 years.
